What books and materials can you recommend for adult learners of intermediate level?
Submitted by aliya_86 on 18 August, 2011 - 10:55
Dear colleagues,
what books can you recommend for me to teach English for an adult learner of intermediate level? What do you think about Cutting edge or English File? or you can advice anything more? The learner has quite a high position and needs english mostly in his work, as he constantly has to meet foreign guests etc.
Please help with advice.
Thanks a lot.

I've used American English file with adult classes. Great book, loads of material: workbook exercises, communicative tasks, pronunciation activities, and supplementary material; and the teachers book is actually quite helpful. Someone told me there's actually a British English file that follows the same format, can't verify that though. There's so much material with the three books that I'm sure you'll find something you can use for a one-to-one lesson- only problem being you have buy the three books!
