      Dear Colleagues,

I have been approached by an NGO in Mumbai to develop an ELT template which would help them run a standard and organised programme for under privileged preteens,  teenagers and women.

I have quite willingly taken on this challenge hoping that the highly experienced and compassionate ELT world will come to my rescue!

Will you please, recommend people, organisations who are working in the field and wouldn't mind sharing experiences, challenges and lessons learnt.

      Presently the main hurdles are:

      Where do we begin:

      1) first focus on letters their names and sounds; how much of FL should be used to assist the learners? 'A' and its sounds have some 5-6 equivalents in Hindi if Sounds of A are written in Hindi will it boggle the Learners (women and college students)?

      2) Secondly i feel its best to teach with reference to a relevant context, but amalgamating four skills, a context and knowledge in a  session of 1 hour is a Really Tall Order. How does one go about it?

There are many such dilemmas and conflicts which i'm sure can be resolved if i so much as get to interact with somebody who has hands on experience in the field (I've received a very helpful response from a BC super-mastertrainer, but i could do with a lot more help)  especially from experts teaching English as third Lg and/or experts with similar cultural backgrounds.

      Hopefully, yours
