      The Twelve Days of Christmas

      Dear fellow-bloggers,

As threatened yesterday, here is the second Christmas blog.  Today is Christmas Day, so fior those of you who celebrate it, all good wishes for a happy day.  For those who do not celebrate it, my best wishes to you all for a fulfilling and productive year both professionally and personally in 2010.  The decade of the 'noughties' (or 'naughties') will soon be over.  The teen decade begins!

Best wishes, (and do keep blogging.  I am here till 31 December).

      Alan

      Dear Mr Maley,

Thank you for the wishes and the poem!

I haven't had the chance to celebrate much, my research study is due tomorrow! But am almost finished, so it's alll right..

I wanted to thank you for your tips and comments, it was lovely to be able to communicate with you!

And I have two last questions for you. How do you pronounce your last name? is it ['maeli] or ['meili] (I go for the first one, my lead advisor thought it was the second choice, so I said I'd ask :)

And the last one is about the verb forget. I know that the usual conjugation is forget-forgot-forgotten, but I have also seen forget-forgot-forgot. What's the difference? I always use the second one because I thought it was British English, but now I am hesitating and have found many different answers online.. maybe you know what the deal is?

Well, thank you again! It has been a pleasure, I also hope you have a great 2010 and the others to come!

      Warmest regards,

      Kathy (Chile)
