      Effective teachers

I have just read a book entitled "101 Answers for New Teachers and their Mentors: Effective Teaching Tips for Daily Classroom Use" written by Annette L. Breaux. i find this book very inspiring. The tips are excellent, especially for teachers who want to develop their professionalism.

One thing that I will comment here is that for teachers, it is important to develop rapport with students in order to be effective teachers. And, one way of developing this rapport is through memorizing the students' names. I have tried this in my classes. I always try hard to memorize the names of my students the first time I teach them. I do this by making seating chart when I call the role. In this way, I can call the students by names and that seems to improve my  rapport with my students.

      Dear friend,

First I would like to welcome you to this site and wish you a happy time while communicating with other teachers.  Thanks for introducing a good book to teachers .Yes you are right, knowing your students, their first name, their likes and dislikes,
And even sharing with their sorrows and happiness when they need sympathy is very important and all these kind of mutual understanding make them eager to learn English well in a friendly manner. We should consider cultural aspects and the capacity of students too.

Thank you for your comment.  I also have the belief that sharing with their sorrows and happiness is very important. One thing which I have not tried to do is how we know that a student has a very big problem. Sometimes I use jokes in my class but I am afraid this joke will not be appropriate for those students who have problems. So, if anyone knows how to deals with this so that I will not make the students who have problems depressed, please give me some advice. Thanks in advance.
