For ESL students, using Do/Are, Does/Is, is really problem. It takes a long time to enable them to understand when to use do,are, does or is in some questions. I teach at SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi. My students have the same problem using auxiliary verbs in asking questions. I have a solution by implementing 'Picture Guessing Game'. The students were grouped into group of four. Each group has prepared a set of pictured cards of profession, food, drinks, animals and vegetables. One member mixed the card, then he took one pictured card, and put others in the centre of the table. The 3 other members guessing what the oicture is, by asking some questions using Yes/No questions (Do/Are,Does/Is). And one member who kept 1 card only answer Yes or No. The member who could guess the picture, got score 100. Through this game, hoped the students will understand the different between 'do and are, does and is. The result was significant.
