British Council Spain is running three webinars in October and November 2020. Find out about these webinars below.

Panel discussion: Rethinking Assessment in Plurilingual Education - Tuesday 20 October 2020 from 18.00 - 19.00 (CET)

Assessment plays a central role in bilingual education with students’ language progress and overall proficiency as well as subject knowledge matter needing to be assessed, usually through a combination of both teacher-created assessment and externally created assessment.

We invite you to take part in our panel discussion around the role and challenges in plurilingual education. Our panel, Lucy Crehan, Barry O' Sullivan and Ana Llinares will provide short input sessions but panel content will be centred around the debate and questions posed by our audience.

Panel discussion: Rethinking Inclusion in Plurilingual Education - Tuesday 03 November from 18.00 - 19.30 (CET)

There are huge challenges around inclusion policies and inclusive practices in education and some argue that these challenges are even more difficult to address in plurilingual and bilingual education programmes. Is this true? Does learning through another language make any or all areas of inclusion more difficult and if so, how can we mitigate this? Critics often question the inclusion policies and practice in schools in these programmes, but are they right to do so? Are these different from those in other schools? Should they be? What can we all do to ensure that plurilingual and bilingual programmes provide a successful education for all?

We invite you to take part in our panel discussion in inclusion in plurilingual education.  Our panel, Tony Booth, Marisa Pérez Cañado, Mariano Fernández Enguita and Sonja Uhlmann will provide short input sessions but panel content will be centred around the debate and questions posed by our audience.

Panel discussion: Rethinking Quality Assurance in Plurilingual Education - Tuesday 17 November from 18.00 - 19.30 (CET)

All schools want to offer the best education possible to their pupils, but what does quality mean in plurilingual and bilingual education? What policies and practices of school leadership help ensure quality and how do we monitor the impact and success of these so that we can celebrate and build on what is working and change what isn’t?

We invite you to take part in our panel discussion around quality assurance in plurilingual education.  Our panel, Catrin Redknap, Sara Pampín García and Mercedes Hernández Estrada will provide short input sessions but panel content will be centred around the debate and questions posed by our audience.
