This lesson is all about special days and greeting cards. You might like to tie it in with a special day in the country you’re working in, or with a special day in the UK.
The greeting card industry is huge in the UK, and this lesson begins with a simple true or false activity about how big the industry is. Students are then asked to match typical greetings to the relevant occasion, and then talk about special days in their own country. There is a short reading and writing activity, and then students are asked to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various ways of sending greetings. Finally students will design a greeting card and message for their favourite special day.
