Refugee week workshop - Educating refugees online during Covid-19

This online event is run jointly by the University of Manchester and Caritas Salford.

During the workshop both organisations will present key findings and strategies for teaching refugees online. The University of Manchester and Caritas Salford collaborated on a research project funded by the ESRC Impact Accelerator Account that explored how teachers adapted to the realities and challenges of teaching refugees online during the pandemic. This workshop will outline the key findings and teacher tool kit developed for teaching refugees online, many of whom had low digital literacy levels and lack of access to technology. The workshop will be relevant to both academics and ESOL practitioners looking to better understand the challenges and strategies that can be employed in online education for refugees.

Participants are welcome to attend both sessions, or simply come for one session. To register, visit the registration page.
