Materials: Developing collaborative practice between LETs and NESTs

These training materials are suitable for teachers working on formal NEST schemes and for those working independently.

These training materials have been created as part of a larger, British Council funded project: 'Investigating NEST schemes around the world: supporting NEST/LET collaborative practices'. They have been designed with the aim of developing cooperation and understanding between local English teachers (LETs) and native English speaker teachers (NESTs).

The materials are designed for ease of use. Each activity provides information on focus, learning outcomes, mode of delivery and materials, as well as a step-by-step guide on how to use them. Some of the materials are designed primarily for face-to-face use with a trainer/facilitator, while others are designed for self-study. Each activity includes a set of ‘alternatives’, suggestions on how to use the materials in slightly different ways. You may, of course, come up with your own alternatives and adaptations to suit your own learning and teaching context. We would very much like to hear about your experiences of using the materials. You might also have materials of your own that you would like to share.

The materials are free to download below as a pdf file.

The project produced two other outputs, which are also available to download:
