Incorporating the concept of heroes in a lesson plan is an awesome idea. Kids should also be taught that heros are not just people who does a one time great thing. Your neighbor next door, the fireman, the police officer and other could also be heroes and being heroes are not just exeuting feats of Superman or Spiderman, but the selfless thoughts and actions for others' well being.

I tried it in my class with 6 th grade. They liked it. To my surprise they knew all the heroes and sidekicks in the lesson plan. I was obliged to cut down the lesson plan as our lessons lasts 45 minutes.  Thank you for the lesson plan that involves student's attention.

This is great topic for the teenagers. I have used this lesson plan as I know they are interested in books, movies, etc. about heroes. when I elicited what the student know about Batman this automatically gave them some motivation and interest. Also cut up strips, mingle and match activity was useful. Thanks!

A good lesson plan but I don't know if I agree with the syllable counts.
