Great Expectations: Pip and Magwitch

In this lesson students focus on reading and understanding dialogue in an extract from Great Expectations. There is also a chance for them to bring that dialogue to life through voice and intonation.

Level: B2/C1 +

Age group: Older teens/adults

Timing: 90 minutes (plus homework)

Aims:

  • For students to practise skills of reading for gist and understanding dialogue
  • For students to practice bringing a text to life through voice and intonation
