ELTeCS LAC covers a large geographical area, of many contrasts, but which also has a strong linguistic identity.

Membership is strongest in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. ELTeCS LAC was the third ELTeCS list to be set up, in March 2000. Access to the Internet has been growing fast in some parts of the region, and much more slowly in others.

ELTeCS LAC members will continue to have the choice of receiving news in plain text format, but we anticipate that many who have easier access to the web will welcome the choice to receive news in a more colourful, web-based format too.

The Editor of ELTeCS LAC is Renate Thummler, based in Mexico. Renate receives a steady stream of messages from members, particularly about TA activities and events, but also projects and online initiatives. If you have any EL teacher development news to share via ELTeCS LAC, please contact Renate via the ELTeCS list.
