The foremost linguist David Crystal successfully held a series of lectures in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg within the framework of the UK-Russia Year of Culture 2014.

Over 1,700 people attended David Crystal's lectures and about 600 people watched the lectures online. In his lectures David Crystal spoke about the original pronunciation of Shakespeare's time, about the influence of Internet on language, English accents and many other issues.

We also announced a contest "Ask David Crystal a question" and the answers to 10 best questions were recorded. We congratulate the winners and are glad to present the video interviews where you can find out how many new words were created by Shakespeare which linguistic phenomenon Professor David Crystal would write an adcenture story about, does Internet ruin the language and many other interesting answers.
